The Wattana Transmission tower is 67.5
m high and is located outside of Bangkok,
Thailand. It was designed to survive 130
km/hr wind gusts as well as minimial seismic
activity. STAAD.Pro was used to analyze
the steel structure. STAAD's advanced wind
and seismic loader were used to distribute
the forces on the tower. About 3 man weeks
of calculations were saved with the automatic
load generators. The tower was designed
using the EIA-222C Transmission Tower code
which was externally developed and linked
to STAAD.Pro
