REI OPTIMISTIC ABOUT ITS STRUCTURAL SOFTWARE BUSINESS DESPITE ADVERSE MARKET CONDITIONS

YORBA LINDA, CA - April 2, 2003 - Research Engineers International (REI), a division of netGuru, Inc. (Nasdaq: NGRU), providers of STAAD.Pro and other world class engineering software for structural design and analysis, today announced an optimistic outlook for fiscal 2004 despite soft market conditions in March.

STAAD.Pro sales have reached record growth in REI’s fourth quarter ended March 31, 2003 due to the positive response to the technological advances in REI’s products and its innovative marketing campaigns. Despite a slowdown in software procurement in the construction industry, REI has experienced 100% revenue growth from the same quarter in the prior fiscal year from both Latin America and Canada, as a result of additional corporate and enterprise licensing from organizations such as Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE), Ministerio de Obras Publicas de El Salvador, and Panama Canal Commission and companies such as Teksign, Inc. and ATCO Electric Limited. REI is experiencing a similar uptrend in South East Asia region with continued license purchases in the petrochemical and oil and gas industries from companies such as Brown & Root Far East, Jacobs Engineering, Foster Wheeler, JGC (Philippines), Italian-Thai Development Corporation, Viet Sov Petro (Vietnam) and China Petroleum.

In March, REI completed an update and training seminar series for its new STAAD.Pro 2003 product launch in 35 U.S. cities with record attendance within its target markets. REI now offers certified training to structural engineering professionals, along with other complementary services such as enhanced maintenance and consulting for customization and integration with legacy systems.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Amrit Das, Chairman & CEO of netGuru said, “We are encouraged by these developments. Although March sales have been soft, we have controlled costs and at the same time increased our STAAD.Pro sales in our target markets. REI is outperforming our competitors due to our technology, customer service, sales and marketing as we continue to strengthen our market leadership position within our markets. With our new partnership with Tekla and our upcoming combined product for the building market, we feel that we are poised to take further advantage of our leadership position.”.
