REI RELEASES POWERFUL STAAD STRUCTURAL SUITE WITH NEW FOUNDATION DESIGN PROGRAM

Offers transparent data migration, preserving data integrity from one design phase to the next

YORBA LINDA, CA - August 26, 2003 - Research Engineers International (REI), a division of netGuru, Inc. (Nasdaq: NGRU), provider of STAAD.Pro and other world class engineering software for structural design and analysis, today announced the release of its most powerful integrated structural software suite to date. The STAAD Structural Suite consists of STAAD.Pro 2003 2nd Edition, a general purpose three-dimensional (3D) structural analysis and design program, STAAD.etc, a structural toolkit consisting of 26 modularized design programs, Sectionwizard, a section property calculator and STAAD.foundation, a new and revolutionary product capable of analyzing and designing mat foundations, pile caps, slabs on grade and isolated and combined footings.

With its new open architecture environment (OpenSTAAD), each of the components in the STAAD Structural Suite is seamlessly integrated with one another allowing for transparent data migration. Engineers can now assemble and calculate structural properties for “built-up” or “free-formed” sections, bring those sections into STAAD.Pro 2003 to add to the model, perform miscellaneous structural calculations such as base plate design, ASCE 7 wind loading or design of a retaining wall in STAAD.etc based on the results from STAAD.Pro and, finally, design multiple foundation arrangements on the final structure using STAAD.foundation. STAAD.foundation is the newest member of the STAAD family of products. The exact design of complicated foundations like mats or slabs, pile cap arrangement and design, generation of editable steel detailing drawings, structural drawing reports and step-by-step calculations are some of STAAD.foundation’s salient features. The program is designed to accept the foundation as an object so that complex tasks such as meshing can be handled internally.
