NETGURU INC. ANNOUNCES ENGINEERING SOFTWARE LICENSING, DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH NEW COLUMBIA JOIST

Automating Entire Steel Joist Production Process for Division of Bouras Industries

YORBA LINDA, CA - May 17, 2005 - Research Engineers International, a division of netGuru, Inc. (Nasdaq: NGRU), announced a software licensing and development agreement with New Columbia Joist Company (NCJC), in which netGuru is customizing its STAAD.Pro engineering software to automate NCJC's mass-design and mass-production processes for steel joists.

Joists are beam-like structural members with open-web designs and are used to support loads such as floors and roofs.

Typically, NCJC takes orders, obtains estimates, procures materials, designs, and engineers steel joists manually, which also involves numerous manual transfers of data between steps. Under terms of the agreement, netGuru is developing a customized STAAD.Pro to automate those processes and also automate NCJC's system capabilities to manage varying volume, input, and output requirements.

"We are excited to be working with netGuru on this extremely important development project," remarked Drew Potts, NCJC engineering manager. "The challenge for netGuru is to customize STAAD for our particular needs, which include handling an unusually large amount of engineering and production data. This application, when completed, will greatly enhance NCJC's ability to provide joists in today's competitive market."

netGuru Chairman and Chief Executive Amrit Das commented: "We are pleased to be working with New Columbia Joist Company, one of the leaders in the steel joist industry, and also because this project illustrates some of the unique benefits that STAAD.Pro offers. Our engineering software is widely used in the steel industry, and, since incorporating an open architecture into STAAD.Pro, several steel joist companies have adopted it as the core engine for their workflows.

"Furthermore, steady growth in the number of STAAD.Pro licensees supports and reinforces our business process outsourcing (BPO) strategy to include software development and customization with engineering and related services," Das added.

New Columbia Joist Company is a division of Bouras Industries Inc., a privately held manufacturer and supplier of steel products for the construction industry, including structural steel, steel decks, and sidings; and through NCJC, manufactures standard joists, long span joists, bow strings, and joist girders.
